Each kit contains just about everything you’ll need to get started, including a French white starter that @vanessakimbell herself has been using since the age of 11. It produces the sweetest loaf, almost yoghurt-like in flavour, and comes alongside a ceramic Kilner jar, sourdough cards, instruction, flour and the optional addition of a signed copy of our book.

Not only is it a delight to indulge in, but it's also one of many foods that include polyphenols, which are vital to a healthy gut and the perfect inclusion in your sourdough.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You can also find Polyphenols in foods such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, tea, coffee and wine. They are also in grain and are more prevalent in darker varieties of grain.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Vanessa’s Italian mother loved good food and was a senior chef at Keele University and both her English grandmother and Italian great-grandmother were bakers. The house was just 60 yards away from the thriving rural French village bakery. The bakery supplied all the bread for miles around and was right the heart of the community. She was just nine years old and she fell in love with everything French – the wine, the cheese, the fresh fruit and vegetables, the farmers, and the local markets, but most of all...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
