Are you a baker. a healthcare professional or someone who is helping others through baking? Then read on …
We have over £100,000 of Scholarships & Bursaries to award!
Did you know that bread, when baked well, can improve health?
If you’re reading this, then you love bread. It’s a food that’s been horribly misunderstood. Bad bread is truly terrible for you — but good bread is therapeutic and deeply nourishing.
My research has shown that the Baking as Lifestyle Medicine (BALM) Protocol we use as a framework here at The Sourdough School can improve both gut health and mental health.
Our sponsors are as committed as I am to increasing the number of people who truly understand. This isn’t just about baking; it’s about baking the healthiest bread in the world. To do that, you have to study the systems and adapt the bread you bake, eat, and share.
This is about you. You are the system — your gut, your genetics, the bread you bake for yourself, and the bread you share with the people you love, your family, and your community. The three extraordinary friends and students of the School, who memories are cherished in these awards brought amazing warmth and joy and generosity into our community; so I’m delighted to remember their love and laughter and the feeling they brought with them by announcing that Gail’s Bread, Lifecode Gx, and Hodmedod’s are sponsoring our Educational Awards this year, and that applications are now open for The Sourdough School Educational Awards 2025.
You are invited to apply below.
Warmest wishes,
— Dr Vanessa Kimbell, Founder, The Sourdough School
