What is a Social Enterprise?
Social enterprises are businesses that are changing the world for the better. A traditional business runs with the aim of making a profit but here at the Sourdough School we are a social enterprise. So, what makes us a social enterprise? There are three ways that we do this:
- Our profits and what we do with our profits that sets us apart – we have been reinvesting to create positive systems and social change in bread-making for over a decade
- Original research into how The Bread Protocol supports gut health and positive outcomes for both physical and mental health
- The way we teach is in accordance with our values of creating and sharing bread that nourishes the gut microbiome, and is in accordance with our Systems Change Programme
- The way we run the business day to day, with organic gardens, and products as well as sharing free resources on our social media platforms and publication of our books, and events to share knowledge in our industry.
I can’t say anything except *LOVE* all the way around!!!
